Tipping the Scales Research and Rescue was founded as an organization dedicated to the connecting of students to science and wildlife. Our organization started off as a pet shop called Wet Pet and Reptile Center. When our founder Terry Pompey purchased the shop he chose to use the animals for education.

Under a new model with a mission to teach, and rescue animals Tipping the Scales Pet Supplies grew to become Tipping the Scales Research and Rescue. Our organization set out to work with school districts and private schools throughout Maryland in order bring biology and genetics to life through our animals. Furthermore our business donates a percentage of every retail sale we make back to our non-profit efforts.
